Devin Paton, a senior at Monrovia High in California, placed second in the boys 300-meter hurdles final in one of the closest races in CIF State Championships history at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis. Paton was edged by Long Beach Jordan's Daryll Stevens by a 37.432 to 37.435 margin, with Eastvale Roosevelt's Cayden Roberson taking third in 37.437.
